Ms. Kim, President and CEO of Asian Marketing Services (AMS), founded the company in 1996 with the goal of assisting American businesses to reach the Asian American demographic, especially Koreans. As the company achieved success within the Korean market, clients asked for help with other Asian-American demographics as well. To meet the needs of these clients, the Chinese and Vietnamese communities were added. While the company concentrates on the Asian American demographic, it has also performed work targeting the Hispanic American market.

Ms. Kim, a native of Seoul, South Korea, has lived and worked in Northern Virginia for more than a decade. Before establishing AMS, she covered arts and cultural events for several local Korean language newspapers, as well as English language newspapers specializing in Asian and Asian American affairs. The experience gained in working with the media has served her well in her current role. Her understanding of how the different media outlets operate, and her relationship with each outlet greatly benefits AMS clients.

Ms. Kim has successfully organized and marketed multicultural events and business conferences aimed at reaching out to the Asian and Hispanic demographic and establishing business links with them. One such event was the Northern Virginia Community College (NVCC) - Annandale Campus Community Partnership Day (November 2005) which aimed at introducing Korean and Hispanic Communities to training programs and employment opportunities at NVCC. Another successful event has been the Annual Multicultural Business Conference, held under the theme “Access to Success,” which aims at providing information and training to minority small business owners and providing network opportunities with other entrepreneurs, financial institutions and government agencies.

Ms. Kim has received several awards and recognitions of excellence for the contributions AMS and she personally have made to the development of the minority businesses in the Washington metropolitan area, and the organization of, and contribution to several events aimed at reaching out to the minority communities.
